Rohit and Komal have been together since their high-school days. Like many young couples building their careers, life eventually took them to different cities. When Komal got a job opportunity in Bangalore, she moved there to begin a new chapter.

Initially, she stayed in a PG. But after spending nearly six months, she realized that PG living came with its own challenges—lack of privacy, limited comfort, and high costs for what was being offered. Shifting to a flat seemed like the obvious next step.

However, moving into a flat alone was not a practical option—both from a budget and safety perspective.

Komal had friends in the city, but everyone had different plans. Some had already settled elsewhere, some had mismatched budgets, and others were living far from her workplace. Finding a common ground—same area, similar rent expectations, and compatible living preferences—proved to be unexpectedly difficult.

Days passed, and the problem remained unresolved.

Komal often shared these struggles with Rohit, and that’s when a simple but powerful question came up:

“Why is it so hard to find the right roommate, even when so many people are facing the same problem?”
 

The Real Problem We Noticed

But none truly solve the roommate problem.

The real challenge begins after you move into a flat.

• Budget mismatches, location issues, and long commutes make decisions harder.

• People want compatibility—not just an empty room.

At the same time:

• Someone else is searching for a flat but is stuck because they don’t have a roommate.

• Both sides exist—but they don’t easily find each other.
